The recent publication of two new comprehensive volumes on mid-Republican Rome and Latium (Roma Medio Repubblicana: Dalla conquista di Veio alla battaglia di Zama, Quasar 2020; Oltre “Roma Medio Repubblicana”: Il Lazio fra i Galli e la battaglia di Zama, Quasar 2019) highlights new discoveries, studies and reflections – but where do we go from here?

This event aims to take recent research and reflection across more than 45 years of significant archaeological advancement in the field and consider new interpretations and future directions. It is framed as an international conversation and debate between five editors, Rita Volpe, Christopher Smith, Alessandro D’Alessio, Francesco Maria Cifarelli and Mirella Serlorenzi, curated and moderated by two facilitators, Dan-el Peralta Padilla and Seth Bernard.
