Winston Branch is a British artist, originally from St. Lucia. He has been working non-stop since he graduated from the Slade in 1970, producing works that are now in the collections of the V&A, the British Museum, the Brooklyn Museum and, most recently, Tate.
From 1971 to 1972 he was Rome Scholar in Painting at the British School at Rome. Later, he was also recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship in New York, a DAAD Fellowship in Berlin and he was artist in residence at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is Honorary Doctor at Art University Greenwich in London and Professor at University of California, Berkley and Kansas State University.
Winston is still making art in his studio in London while maintaining a studio also in Oakland, California, having spent his life living and working across the world.
