Robert Maxwell Memorial Lectures at the University of Liverpool School of Architecture

The University of Liverpool School of Architecture is presenting a forthcoming lecture series which celebrates its alumnus Robert ‘Bob’ Maxwell (1922–2020). Maxwell, who graduated in architecture and then took his diploma in civic design at the University of Liverpool in 1949, taught at the The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London; the Architectural Association School of Architecture; and was Dean at Princeton University. Maxwell was also a member of BSR Faculty, 1974–82.

The inaugural lecture, presented in association with the American Institute of Architects, will be delivered by Kenneth Frampton, Emeritus Professor at Columbia University and entitled Reflections on the predicament of Architecture: seven points in retrospect. Conclusions on the topic will be contributed by Marco Iuliano (University of Liverpool), member of the BSR Faculty of Archaeology, History and Letters and the newly-formed Architecture Advisory Committee.
