BSR and Rome Transformed mentioned in recent The Times article

The Times recently published an article about Villa Wolkonsky, the British embassy residence and the focus of archaeologists working on the Rome Transformed project.

BSR Archaeology Officer Stephen Kay spoke to the news source, revealing that there is a 1st century AD road that lies beneath the Villa’s grounds, and that there are likely also a number of Roman tombs that they hope to find using ground penetrating radar.

The aim of the Rome Transformed project is to create a map of the surrounding area as it would have looked in Roman times. To find out more, click here.
