Analysing and editing Terence manuscripts in the digital age
Wednesday 11 May 2011 15.00
Bernard Muir (University of Melbourne)
Professor Bernard Muir will give a presentation on the manuscripts of Terence in the BSR Seminar Room at 3 pm on Wednesday 11 May. Professor Muir has published scholarly editions of both Latin and Old English texts; he is best known for his edition of The Exeter Anthology of Old English Poetry and for his earlier reconstruction of an eleventh-century devotional text that was badly damaged in the Cotton Library fire of 1731. He has also edited three volumes of essays on medieval art history, two of these with Margaret M Manion; and has recently produced several innovative CD-Rom versions of texts, and also one on the production of early manuscripts.
