Academy / Studio / Museum

Thursday 17 April 2014 18.00 – 19.30

Nicholas Cullinan, BSR Rome Scholar 2004-05, and currently Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, will talk about his time at the BSR, and how that fed into his curation of the Matisse Cut-Outs exhibition at Tate Modern (17 April-7 September 2014) which focusses on the idea of the artist’s studio.

This will be followed by a conversation about Matisse between Dr Cullinan and Professor Ester Coen, noted Italian contemporary art historian, who will curate the exhibition Matisse Arabesque at Rome’s Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the spring 2015.
