In recent years, a new school of everyday life history has examined fascism from new angles, utilising micro histories, everyday stories and local histories. This school has produced fascinating work which will be discussed in this session bringing together some of the most important proponents of this way of working. Is violence better understood at a micro and everyday level? Did violence continue throughout the regime, albeit in different ways? How does this impact on debates around consensus and consent?
