Support services
Conference and seminar facilities
The British School at Rome is a superb environment for facilitating scholarly exchange. Whether you are planning a small colloquium or a major conference, we have meeting rooms, break out space and entertaining areas all enhanced by conference support which truly understands the needs of academics – because that’s what we are.
Permits and site visits
Many libraries, archives, collections and monuments in Italy are not open to the public. The British School at Rome is often able to gain access for our scholars and artists wanting to visit a closed or restricted site. Scholars intending to visit Rome specifically to access a particular site are strongly encouraged to contact the School Secretary, Maria Pia Malvezzi as early as possible.
Memorandums of Understanding
The British School at Rome proudly celebrates its long established links with world-leading museums and academic institutions and has signed formal memorandums of understanding with some of these to exploit our complementary expertise in future opportunities for research.
