Important exhibitions about Sicily and the Sicilian seas are taking place this year in London and Oxford (Sicily: Culture and Conquest (British Museum) and Storms, War and Shipwrecks: Treasures from the Sicilian Seas (Ashmolean)). Join us for a discussion of the themes and objects included in these shows, and to explore what we can learn about this largest island in the Mediterranean, its culture, conquest, and maritime commerce and challenges.
