A new MA/MSc Archaeological Survey and Landscape has been introduced at The University of Southampton, Archaeology from October 2011.
The study of archaeological landscapes and the use of survey methods, including geophysical techniques and GIS, is one of the most fundamental areas of research within the discipline of Archaeology.
The new MA/MSc will provide the opportunity to study all aspects of landscape survey and apply cutting edge techniques on some of Southampton's leading projects including Portus, Rome's ancient port, conducted in collaboration with The British School at Rome (BSR). As part of the course it will be possible to undertake new fieldwork at Portus and stay at the BSR.
