Introduction

Humanities at the British School runs several academic programmes for award-holders and residents, which include a lecture programme of public and in-house lectures, book presentations, seminars, conferences and site visits. These focus on archaeology, art history, classics, history, literature, fine arts, architecture and architectural history, and cover all periods to the present. Interdisciplinary collaboration is promoted and intellectual exchange encouraged between academic institutions and other foreign academies which support scholarly research and fine arts.
