Lectures and Conferences

One of the BSR's main activites is a regular series of lectures and conferences. These demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of the academic community, and enable residents scholars and artists to present their research, as well as promoting intellectual exchange with the wide range of artists and scholars in Italy and especially at the other foreign academies in Rome.

Art and architectural history lectures alternate with archaeology, classics and history lectures throughout the year. Informal artists' talks enable the resident art and architecture scholars to present their work to other BSR scholars, as well as to members of Rome’s international academies. Lectures and exhibitions by British and Italian architects are held on a regular basis (Newsletter; Fine Arts; Architecture).
