CHARGES - from 1 January 2010
The British School at Rome offers accommodation through the year to Humanities and Fine Arts scholars affiliated to U.K. and Commonwealth universities, who are also subscribers to the School, and to others with an interest in Italy, subject to availability. Our charges assume that you will engage fully with the remarkable community of artists and scholars who work at the School, and contribute to the vibrant and exciting intellectual life that has developed here for over a hundred years. Charges are based upon room, breakfast and dinner, and include free-access to the library*. Residents also have access to a small self-catering kitchen, laundry room, tennis court, artists’ workshop, IT facilities, and wi-fi from each room. Residents can arrange to send and receive personal faxes via the School's fax machine - charges are available on request. Basic Charges: All residents are subscribers to the British School. The present rate is Euro 40,00 and this may be taken out on arrival. A passport size photograph will also be required together with a photocopy of passport photograph and passport details.
These rates include breakfast and dinner from Sunday to Friday and breakfast and packed lunch on Saturdays. No dinner is served on Saturdays and no lunch on Sundays. Additional meals are charged at the following rates:-
All prices include service. Cancellations: Please inform the office as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your booking or change the proposed dates of your visit. Cancellations given with less than 30 days notice prior to your initial arrival date, will be charged at 50% of the total cost of the accommodation booked. Payment methods: Please note that the School accepts cash payments in Euro, or by previous agreement, by bank draft in Euro, payable to: “The British School at Rome”. Pound sterling cheques are also accepted. The following credit / debit cards are accepted, for which a 4% surcharge is levied: Visa, Mastercard, Delta, JCB, Maestro (UK issued). Please note that all credit / debit card transactions will be in pounds sterling. Health Cover / Valid travel documents: It is essential to obtain health insurance for the duration of your visit. A European Health Insurance Card (obtainable on line at www.dh.gov.uk/travellers) must be obtained before departure, to ensure entitlement to treatment under the Italian State Medical Scheme. If arriving in Italy from a non-EEC country, please ensure you have valid travel documents / visas and health insurance, prior to departure.
How to book: All requests for accommodation must be accompanied by a "BSR Registration Form". *N.B. The BSR library is closed annually for inventory purposes during the months of July and August. |
